A Boundary/Title survey is the standard survey required by a homeowner when buying and selling a house. It will let you know if a fence, wall, driveway, shed, etc... is on or off your property. They are typically required by the bank and title company when you are buying a house before they will issue title insurance and approve your mortgage.
Updated surveys are also required after you complete work on your house. Whether you just put up a fence, wall, deck, installed a pool, or shed. Your town will require an updated survey before they will allow you to close out your building permit and get your CO.
If you are in the middle of a dispute with a neighbor. An updated survey will let you know if that shed, fence, or wall is on your property or not.
